Why ASL Item attributes doesn't get updated with new BPA line no if expiration date is today's date?

Oracle EBS R12.2.10

Steps: An item is end dated on a BPA by putting an Expiration Date on BPA line item, new line is added for the same item with different price, BPA is reapproved.

Issue: ASL item attributes window doesn't get updated with new line if Expiration date: Todays date, ASL gets updated if Expiration Date is yesterday date. Is this the intended functionality ?
