Creating Lots and User Date Field

Hi, using 9.2.

When creating a new lot, it looks like the User Lot Date 1-5 fields get populated with a date, based on the Default Days set up in the Item Branch. Is there a way to stop that auto population of those fields? We would like to use one of those User Lot Date fields for something else and only enter a date there when needed.
