End Date Active BOM Using ECO

This is probably a stupid question. But, how do I set up the ECO to end date the BOM's on a parent item? We have like 10,000 parent BOM's on obsolete items that we'd like to end date so they don't appear in our Where Used any more. For example, we have Widget X that currently shows an Effective Thru date on the BOM as of 12/31/2040; but I'd like to update it to 9/15/2022.

However, I don't want to get this wrong. I thought it was a Change Parent; but my accounting team is saying it's a Replace Parent.

Can someone break the tie? :-)
