How to update additional fields using Ratings and Promotions

Hi,

When using the Performance Rating Compensation Category type for a plan, is there any way to update any additional fields on the review form other than the actual rating?

I am specifically thinking of the DFF here.

And on a similar note, when using the Assignment Changes/Promotions Category type can the ASS_ATTRIBUTE fields be updated from the plan? I can display them, and have looked at changing them using dynamic columns but they are not selectable.

These plan categories seem to promise a lot but actually deliver very little.
