Changing Deferred Revenue Recognition from Yearly to Monthly

I have a question that pertains to deferred revenue recognition and am hoping one of you experts can help clarify.

We are on EBS 12.2.9 and have in place deferred revenue recognition rules for select items for some time now, going back a few years. The revenue recognition period for these items was set to Yearly at that time. For e.g. on some items we had the recognition periods set to 3 years at 33.33% each year. This has been working well thus far. Now, business users are presenting the requirement to recognize revenue for these same items on a period by period basis. So, instead of recognition being 3 years at 33.33% per year, they would like it
