Lift & Shift on-premise PeopleSoft from Oracle Exadata to Azure

in Exadata General (MOSC)

Hi,

One of our clients has a requirement to lift & shift their on-premise PeopleSoft application architecture from Oracle Exadata to Azure. Currently they have their entire EDW on Oracle Exadata out of which they only want to migrate their PeopleSoft application on Azure rest everything will remain as it is on Oracle Exadata.

Since Exadata database machine is a high-performance computing platform, and in order to find a solution, it will be great if someone can help us with the questions below.

  1. Need to understand in detail migration of Oracle DB from Exadata to Azure - OS centric?
    1. What should be the Azure VM - RHL or any other? It should match with what’s on Exadata, otherwise, we will end up moving their DB from RHL to Windows which may not work since their DB sizes are 1.5 to 3.5 terabytes.
