eAM Asset Number form - Maintainable and Active Check Boxes

I have been using the Asset number form for a while but never looked at the linkage between these two check boxes in all scenarios so closely. Whenever an asset is 'Deactivated', 'Maintainable' flag is still checked. I cannot understand why and in which scenario this would be needed. I have been thinking that the 'Maintainable' flag also gets unchecked with 'Active' Flag. Any thoughts?
