Notification when Demand class is updated on SO Line

Hello everyone,

Can anyone please comment if there is a standard way to generate a notification when Demand class is updated on the sales order line?

I don't see any seeded workflow that could do it. Thinking of creating a custom alert. Any comments are welcome.

Note: Found a profile option "OM: Send status update notification" which as the name suggests may not be related to question at hand anyways but curious to not find any results when searching this profile in metalink.
