IS disk partition madatory when using AFD?
Hi Gurus,
I'm planning to use AFD in my newly installed db (RHEL 7.6 , Oracle 19c 19.7)
I noticed that my reference documents :
- a PDF whitepaper from MOS:
"How to install ASM Filter Driver in a Linux Environment without having Previously Installed ASMLIB
2. an reference document (which I forgot where it came from )
"DEPLOYING ORACLE RAC DATABASE 12CRELEASE 2 ON RED HAT ENTERPRISELINUX 7"
in both document, a partition will be made on an disk , then udev rules will be applied on the newly created partition. after that afd_label this partition, eg:
in udev rules:
KERNEL=="dm-*",ENV{DM_UUID}=="part1-mpath-xxx",OWNER="grid",GROUP="asmadmin",MODE="0660" <<-- partition UUID
