Seeing error -" ORA-03137: malformed TTC packet from client rejected: [kpoal8Check-7] [165984] []"

When running a select statement query using OCIStmtExecute , seeing the error " Error code: 3137, Error message: ORA-03137: malformed TTC packet from client rejected: [kpoal8Check-7] [165984] [] [] [] [] [] []" .

Client - 12.2.0.1.0

Server -  Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production.

I am using OCI_DEFAULT mode only. Searching specifically for kpoal8Check-7 did not yield any result. Can I know under what situation this error would be thrown?
