Siebel Upgrade Impact /9 now Defaults to Y 22.10 Create Desc Indexes by Default Now
Hi All,
We are just running a Siebel upgrade on a really large dev database that is a copy of production.
I am monitoring progress and see a ton of huge indexes getting recreated. This customer does not any existing descending indexes. Since the customer does not have any descending indexes we did not add /9 Y to tell ddlimp to support descending Oracle indexes like we normally do if the customer does have descending indexes.
Just ran ddlimp -help and now see after all these years of /9 defaulting to N it now defaults to Y.
Think this is going to cause some unexpected slowness for Siebel customers so wanted to pass this along.
