How to Backup wf_schemas or hide workflows from the application interface?

Hello all,

we have a huge list of workflows that must be removed (1000), still we would like to keep some to inspire us later. Is there a way to hide them all, so we still have technical access, but when going as admin / sop / dm not see them in operating mode? - we only want to see what is active and used. - Right now even wf schema groups are hard to manage and filtering is a big problem.

what is the safest way to create backup of this table? - external libraries have limited life period, also are not accessible anymore from the app itself.. it has to be manually recreated.
