hot disk (non-ASM)
I had feedback about a message from OSWatcher that states a given database (19.16 on Solaris Sparc) has got hot disks. And, when I look at the config, but particularly keeping in mind how typically space is added to a database, it makes sense to me.
But the question is, how much effort should you put into such improvements ?
The database in question for example has 6 disks for all data files. The disks have been added incrementally by means of time, presuming to have started with exactly one. The disks are assumed to be the same on features (speed), and the same on volume.
