Why don't I get a warning notification when a GSS transaction does not update fluid position?

We have recently upgraded to image 41. We had a Manager Self Service/GSS transaction that is set-up to update position first which will automatically create the job data row. The transaction saved as success, and there was no mention of a warning. When I looked at the position the row did not update. I checked the View Message Log link on the transaction and see there was a warning. How come there was no notification of a warning? Also, where can I go to query that field?
