How to determine the life of an asset in the prior period?

I have a need to know the life of an asset before it was changed in the current period. I can determine which assets had their lives changed in the current period but I have trouble determining the old life used in the previous month's depreciation.

fa_asset_history and fa_books_summary do not have this information. The latter only has the original life when the asset was added, it does not store the life applicable to the period_counter.
