Oracle 19c with ASMLib or ASM Filter Drive ?

Hi,

I have some questions about the ASM manager (ASMLIB or ASMFD).

I am currently preparing a 19c clusterware installation (2 nodes) + RAC CDB + ASM + ACFS for which I have the following architecture:

• 2 Superdome Flex 280 servers

• Oracle Linux 8.2 Operating System

• Kernel 5.4.17-2011.1.2

I have to make a decision with which ASM manager I am going to configure the ASM, I don't know whether to use asmlib or configure with ASMFD Filter drive.

Prior to this I have read oracle documentation

Can you help me with these questions:

1. Is there a lifetime for the ASMLIB library support ?

2. If I use ASM Filter drive, will I have any problems with the 19c database patching in the future?
