imp-ing vs impdp-ing a 19c exp (or 19c expdp) file into a 12c DB

I have to downgrade from a 19c DB to 12c DB for the vendor that I support. Are there differences between imp and impdp to import a 19c DB dumpfile into a 12c DB? Any gotchas I need to be aware before hand between 19c and 12c?
