6 Digit Form ID Code on 1095-C
Has anyone received the following from the IRS?
"YOUR FORMS ARE MISSING THE 6 DIGIT FORMAT CODE IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER. THIS MAKES YOUR FORMS UNOFFICIAL. WE CAN NOT PROCESS UNOFFICIAL FORMS. "
I read in the IRS publication 5223 : "The six-digit form ID code in the upper right corner of Forms 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C, and 1095-C identifies the official paper form. Generally, the last two digits of the code represent the last year in which major formatting changes were made to the layout of the forms. Developers must have at least 1/4" of white space around the ID code to ensure that it can be properly read by scanning equipment. "
