Sale order Approval Workflow

Hi all, kindly suggest on the below.

We have workflow approval process in place for sale orders to be approved. An approver receives notification on email to approve an order and when they click the link on email it navigates to the workflow approval screen and there when approver click OK button it throws an error as "Organization structure missing". what could be the setup that is missing?
