Patching X7-2S to 19.12.0.0.0 from 19.8.0.0.0

Hi

We are currently applying 19.12 patch on our X7 2S ODA and have a few questions

We are using the official documentation for 19.8 patch

#1. On step 10, (odacli create-prepatchreport -s -v version) it failed on the patching locks

Validate patching locks     Failed  Internal error encountered: Lock on

We removed the inventory lock directory as below and tried the pre-patch again and it worked

rm -rf /u01/app/oraInventory/locks

Questions:

1a) What we did was the right approach ?

1b) Should we have used some other strategy?
