How do you improve document conversion speeds?

WebCenter Content: Inbound Refinery 12.2.1.4.0

We want to improve the speed of document conversion as the queue gets full the pace of conversions slows down. Is there documentation or knowledge base articles that explain how we can speed up conversions?
