Is it possible to have an alternate UOM 'EACH' for an already transacted Item with UOM Litre?

I have an item existing in item master with UOM Litre and the item has been transacted having on-hand stock now.

Now our requirement is that , same item we want to buy in each, so we would like to know whether it is possible to have an additional UOM 'EACH' with conversion for the existing transacted item which is having on-hand stock. ( with out going for a new item creation)

If possible, how to proceed , please advice.
