Query by example - Run is greyed out

Hi,

I have a custom form and one block of the form the query by example/run/count matching records is working. But on another block of the form the query by example enter is available but after entering query by example run/count matching records is greyed out.

It's a custom form and I can't figure out what might be causing this. The F12 (key stroke to count matching records works) but the menu option is greyed out.

Any ideas?
