Does the WO Routing Start Date (STRT) get updated with the actual WO routing start date?

Does the manufacturing WO routing start date (STRT) get update when to the date the step is actually started? Or, does it stay the same as the expected start date (even when the actual and expected dates differ)?

I have reviewed the below definition and links and am a bit confused.

Start Date (STRT) - This field identifies the start date of either the work order or the routing instructions.  Refer to How Work Order Start Date is Calculated for Variable Lead Time Document 881632.1 and WO Header Start Date Does Not Match Start Date of the Routing's First Operation (P3009/P3006)
