options for managing Linux on the desktop

Just have a question about options for managing a desktop running OL as that is new to us. We have a mix of Windows and Linux servers and then all Windows desktops/laptops and now we have one special situation requiring Linux on a desktop. That in itself is not a big issue just wondering about any sort of ability to install and then more importantly also roll back updates if it became necessary. A bare metal image backup perhaps or whatever?

We use EMCC vs OLM for our servers but still just scratching the surface there for options as I think at the server level we could be doing more there with drift configuration and compliance but I can't apply that to a desktop can I?
