Can you dual source under two different item numbers, but sell as the same Item number?

We have a business scenario where we purchase the same Item number from multiple Suppliers, but they have slightly different costs and physical properties (carton size, packaging, etc). Because the Item number is the same, we cannot differentiate the costs and the Inventory in the Warehouse by Supplier. Is there a way to purchase under different item numbers depending on Supplier, but sell under one item number? i.e. The inventory for the multiple purchased items would flow into a single saleable item?
