Running OLVM Engine without subscription while have physical servers covered by Premier Support

Hello,

We have bought Premier support subscription for couple physical servers on which we install Oracle Linux 8 KVM and build OLVM platform. However for Engine we don't use self-hosted topology - but installed it on VM machine running on VMware.

I know this is quite popular architecture choice (ie. to have Engine on the independent hypervisor including VMware) - but how it is viewed from support perspective, i.e:

  • Do we need separate subscription for Engine VM? I know it is "recommended" to have it but is it necessary?
  • If it is optional then can we connect this VM to ULN like we do on KVM servers?
