Bare Metal Rebuild of Exadata appliance

Hypothetically if an Exadata appliance were wiped clean (nothing on the box, no o/s, no configuration info, nothing but just hardware).

  1. Would it be feasible to rebuild the box from scratch without engaging Oracle support/engineering?
  2. Once the box is rebuilt to the point of restoring the CN containers/databases, would a newly generated wallet allow the encrypted backups to be restored?

I know it sounds far-fetched, but this is a real scenario that a customer is asking about. Any good whitepapers, or document links would be appreciated.
