temporary password expiry

Hi I'm just wondering, if I reset a user's password in User Form, how long does this one-time temp. password valid for ? The password date setting is 90 days. Is this date applied to temporary password as well ? BTW, we don't use UMX module for user management. We just email the temp password to user.
