Lot Number Restrictions

We are dipping our toes into simple Lot Number control. Is there any sort of org parameter, org item setup or profile similar to INV: Restrict Receipt of Serials that can help "enforce discipline" in data entry?

We are seeing team members who either ignore generating the next Lot number say at PO delivery or ignore previously generated lot numbers during a subinventory transaction and enter their own lot number for example.

Not saying they are doing this maliciously but simply either lack sufficient training in a work force with high turnover or basic human error.

Interesting how we "don't like" serial number restrictions but now we wish things were tighter with lot numbers
