Can I Use P4102Z Process to Delete SKU's?

For years, we have been adding Item Branch records to branches where items will never reside (better safe than sorry belief). However, with our expansion to hundreds of branches, we are looking to clean up the F4102 table to help with our MRP runs, searches, maintenance, etc.

I know if I delete the SKU's manually using P41026, the system will go through a series of checks to determine if the SKU can be deleted (is the item on a BOM, etc.). I tried using the R4101P process, but I found that it would delete items without validation - for instance, items that have item ledger transactions. So I'm leery to use that process (unless someone has information I don't know about).
