EBS - Configurator extension rule

hi all,

is there any option to create a Java extension rule for EBS - Configurator what i can also use in a custom developed tool?

Our idea is to create a Engine calculation tool what we can use in EBS-Configurator. this is for surre possible... only thing is we would drive some calculations also without the use of Configurator ans maybe develop pure custom Web-based page with what we would like to use the functionality and calculation logic of the Extension rule.

is there anybody who dis already something similar who can share his experience and his knowledge with us?
