Any work arounds for doc 1614793.1 when getting 500 error page instead of SSO login page?

Running Oracle EBS R12.2.8 with OID/OAM for SSO. Any work arounds for doc 1614793.1 when getting 500 error page instead of SSO login page? We had already cloned and services were started. The doc states to remove accessgate prior to starting up the applications. Is there any work around for this? Opened SR, but still waiting on response from Oracle. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling accessgate.
