Any solution to email attachments not working 11.2.10?

Running 11.2.10 and FDMEE custom scripts are failing when attempting to attach a text file (400kb) . Message returned is: line 331 in send raise SMTPServerDisconnected ('Server Not Connected')

We had read that this is related to changes in jython, but are unable to find a solution to get this to work. Files much smaller in size work just fine. But, as the year goes on, this small 400kb text file will grow.

Our older environments with older versions of jython continue ti operate perfectly, sending very large files without issue.
