Using LEAPE to Upgrade OS on system with GRID and RDBMS

We are running the following confiuration

GRID 19.16 in a Standalone Restart Configuration

RDBMS 19.16

Oracle Linux 7.9


Using LEAPE, we have successfully upgraded 7.9 to 8.6 on a test Oracle Cloud Compute Instance with no apparent issues (ie GRID and RDBMS started without any strange alert messages)

Do Oracle support the using LEAPP to upgrade the OS on Production systems?

If Oracle DO NOT support this OS upgrade method, is this likely to become supported in the near future?
