JDE E1 9.2 RMA Special Handling Codes (UDC 40/RN)

In E1 9.2 ... the UDC 40/RN Inventory Returned Material Status Codes. What does the number in the special handling field mean? For example, CLS's special handling field =4.

There is 1 through 7. What is the explanation of the functionality for each number (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7). Are they hard coded and can you create your own code?
