SIP 181 on Call Forward

Not actually an SBC question but more a discussion and asking for opinions.

We have an issue where calls external to the organisation are coming into a user, user has phone set to forward back out to cell phone. Quite a normal setup.

Now some of these calls are failing, or they ring at far end, drop, then ring again.

Telco states that we need to set SIP 181 on call forward.

Internally we are a Cisco house, so this is easy enough by changing vlaue of 'Send 181 Call is Being Forwarded' in System Parameters. But we have not had to do this for any other telco.
