Our application does not use Java and we no longer want to keep patching security holes for a feature we don't want. We have stand-alone EE multitenant databases without ASM.

We installed Oracle 19.18 on RHEL8.2. leaving out JVM. Yet when we query V$OPTION it shows TRUE for JAVA. I've looked everywhere and been unable to find anything explaining why this occurs, how to stop it, and if there are internal critical processes that require it. So far, MOS is not responding either.

Has anyone had any success with this or found a reason it can't/shouldn't be done?
