Weblogic Server Patch / Java Update

Hi,

I am currently running Integrated WLS 12.2.1.4.0

I am currently trying to update my WLS with the latest patch: WLS_PSU_12.2.1.4.0_README (oracle.com)

As a prerequisite in this readme, it states to update Java SE to the current version. Trying to do this, I have a couple questions.

According to document 1492980.1, I should have a java directory outside of ORACLE_HOME that the WLS uses. Following the java installation wizard, it installed the JDK and the JRE in C:\Program Files\Java.

In the document, under 12c R2 (12.2.1.x) and WLS 14.1.1 it says those files need to be updated to point to the new java installation. It makes it a point to mention that the globalEnv.properties file needs to point to the JDK outside of ORACLE_HOME. Does this mean the other files listed in this section don't need to be pointing to the JDK outside of ORACLE_HOME, thus they should be pointing to the JDK inside ORACLE_HOME?

Howdy, Stranger!
