For my On Premise P6 EPPM install using MS SQL, do I need KEYSTORE?

This Keystore thing is creating a lot of extra config work, and I'm not sure I really need it.

During install with eppmconfig.cmd wizard I can create a new database, but the privateuser credential in the PUBUSER table continues to fail. So I use do all the different technical fixes including using "installp6keystore.bat -genpassfile" and such... I verify AE4 vs AE6

But then Database Configuration doesn't work, and cannot create BREBootstrap etc.

I keep getting' Validation Failed – Password file doesn’t exist or is invalid' or 'Keystore in keystore folder does not contain the original key' errors and then I run the or the installp6keystore.bat... again
