Dual quantity / Release backorder P42117

Hi folks

What is the purpose of the DUAL QUANTITY in the P42117 transaction? If the item is not managed by dual unit of measure, is this field used in any program?

We're implementing TMS module and MOT preference. We noticed that if we don't populate the quantity released in this field, the MOT preference doesn't kick off? That's very strange.

The routes are setup is 'KG'...But we were expecting that there is no need to populate this field..
