AP 6350 OCSBC 9.1: In which circumstances is the host-route object necessary?

I recently added a trap-receiver and traps were generating correctly over wancom0. There was no other config at the ACLI level supporting this routing e.g system-config>default-gateway 0.0.0.0.

The SBC therefore appears to be using the bootparam Gateway in this config. Please clarify the relationship between bootparam Gateway, default-gateway and host-route.
