Exadata System Software Update recommendation

in Exadata General (MOSC)

Hello,


My customer is planning to update their Exadata Systems Software in May with Platinum Service.


The existing configuration is two Exadata, X8M-2 and X6-2 in Active-Standby configuration with data guard.  Also, they will soon replace the system for DR from the X6-2 to the X9M-2.


The customer was planning to apply ESS22.1.7 but noticed the following obstacles.

Oracle Linux: Server Crashed with Random Memory Corruption (Doc ID 2922854.1)


Could you please provide an answer for the following inquiry?


Q1. How many times have Exadata Systems Software ever required a UEK upgrade like Doc ID 2922854.1?


Q2. After applying ESS 22.1.7, is it mandatory to upgrade the UEK to a newer version than 4.14.35-2047.517.1?
