Capture reservation date for sales order - ship confirmed/closed lines

When reservation is created for sales order , an entry will be there in Mtl_Reservation table. We can see reservation details in View reservation screen .This entry will be there until order is pick release and pick confirmed. when we do ship confirm, reservation record is removed. i.e no entry in the Mtl_Reservation table and we are not able to view the reservation details in view reservation screen. 

Our requirement is to capture reservation date even after the order is ship confirmed and closed .
