Why All Oracle DBMS Customers Should Be On Unicode

Hi All,

Posting this helpful hint again since it seems that some people are not aware.

We found out very early on that you will run into bugs if your Siebel Oracle database is not Unicode. During out initial testing of IP 17 we ran into many bugs that only applied to non-Unicode databases.

After hitting these errors we decided years ago that for any Siebel upgrade that involved Oracle database that we would also convert the customer's database to Unicode. As it turns out Oracle only tests on Unicode and this is why there can be bugs that only apply to non-Unicode Oracle databases.
