Setting up dataguard on ODA 19.8 - Primary ODA X72-HA and Standby ODA X7-2M

Hello

We have our primary databases on X7-2HA bare metal ODA setup

This is a 2 node RAC database

The ODA version is 19.8 and DB and GRID version are 19.8.0.0.200714

We have a X7 2M ODA that we will be using to configure the DATAGUARD on

It will be a stand alone standby database purely meant for DR purpose

Now we noticed that starting with 19.8, the standby setup and configuration process has been tightly integrated and simplified within the ODA layer but reading thru the documentation of 19.8 ODA under "Pre-requisite for Oracle Data Guard Configuration" it reads

** Oracle recommends that the primary and standby systems have the same Oracle Database Appliance configuration. The database must have similar configuration for database shape, version, memory, networking, and storage (both must have either Oracle ASM or Oracle ACFS storage) to avoid any unpredictability with the database switch roles.

Howdy, Stranger!
