When accessing weblogic server through DNS we are getting different client IP in weblogic access log

Hi,

We have a requirement where we need to log the requesting client IP in the managed server logs.

We have a cluster-server weblogic configuration and there are no external servers/load balancers in place. When we try to hit the webserver with direct IP address in host address , the managed server logs are correctly logging the requesting client IP (with extended loggers enabled and with c-ip added) .

But when we try to use a different hostname(DNS name for the same IP:port combination) which accesses the same application we are receiving a different IP address(which is always the same and looks some kind of broadcast IP where only the last part of IP differs from the Server IP address like xxx.xxx.xxx.235. The first 3 parts of the IP address is same as server IP address instead of client we are getting some form of broadcast IP from server).

Howdy, Stranger!
