Deploying Siebel Gateway Cluster on Amazon RHEL 8

Hi,

Posting this here since it took us a while to figure out and there were no posts explaining how to get this working although there are two that were similar.

First even before the gateway cluster we had issues just deploying the Siebel gateway. As it turned out the gateway could not ping itself and we realized we needed to set RESOLV_MULTI=off to fix this issue.

Then when attempting to deploy the gateway cluster we had many failures. We knew about these two issues:

  • GW cluster won't deploy if the host computer has multiple NICS and therefor multiple IP addresses.
