How can FA depreciation calculate when the asset status is set to blank?

Hi

According to my understanding, a fixed asset will only begin to be depreciated once the status is set to WK.

Under what circumstances can an asset be depreciated when the asset status is set to blank.

I have a situation where assets have been posted into Fixed Assets, but the asset status has not been set to WK, it is still blank, but monthly depreciation has been calculated and posted.

Please could someone let me know if this is meant to be possible, or if there is a bug here and it should not be able to occur.
