ZA Announcement: COIDA - Maximum amount of earnings for purposes of COIDA

On 16 April 2023, the Payroll Authors Group of South Africa (PAGSA) advised all members of a discrepancy with regards to the Maximum amount of earnings for purposes of COIDA that existed in two different Government Gazettes.
Further information as follows:
Government Gazette No. 48065 - published 17 February 2023
This gazette stated that the maximum amount of earnings for purposes of COIDA, for the period March 2023 to February 2024, is R563 520.
Government Gazette No. 48187 - published 10 March 2023
This gazette listed the “Increase in Monthly Pensions” over several pages. It was later discovered that amongst this was a document that contained a different earnings threshold as compared to that contained in Gazette No. 48065 for the period March 2023 to February 2024. Gazette No. 48187 stated that the maximum amount of earnings for purposes of COIDA, for the period March 2023 to February 2024 is R568 959.
